Disney buys Marvel

ohkayyyyy.
I don't really understand why everyone's panties are in a bunch over this. The wedgie is not worth it.
Sure, Disney is renowned for its image as a family-based institution, but it isn't going to absolutely destroy Marvel's appearance.
I think it's great that Disney and Marvel can both extend their target gender base, producing more sales and profit for both companies.

here are some links for the news: http://money.cnn.com/2009/08/31/news/companies/disney_marvel/index.htm

From a business standpoint, this is a very good move for Disney to diversify by buying Marvel. For years Disney relied on their theme parks and classic movies to generate income and Shareholder return. With the current economic conditions, Disney's theme park business is down and their movies dont connect with the audience as much anymore due to the fasination from teens with all the CG movies now....Marvel fills that void both with their characters and their movies.

  2. yeah that was what I was thinking as well.
it's just that all the fanboys of Marvel are totally being drama queens about how Disney would destroy Marvel's business and image.
    I think otherwise though.
    thanks :-]
